Alex Bainbridge

CEO

Alex Bainbridge founded Travel UCD (the company behind TourCMS) in 2002.

Much of Travel UCD's work (prior to launching TourCMS) has been sub-contract for leading UK & European travel companies including project managing ecommerce and reservation system projects for Worldres (hotels), FlyBMI (flights), First Choice (mainstream holiday packages), XL Leisure Group (mainstream holiday packages, flights and villas) & Cadogan Holidays (luxury tailor-made).

Prior to Travel UCD Alex was Head of Web Design & Development for Andbook, an innovative hotel distribution startup founded by Accor, Le Meridien and Hilton International. Before this he was Managing Director and investor in a UK based specialist tour operator & adventure travel company selling backpacker arrival packages in the Middle East and Asia. At one point this company owned and operated 4 overland expedition vehicles.

Alex has a computing degree, speaks French, is a commercially qualified yacht skipper and still writes and reviews code.

Paul Slugocki

VP Customer Interface Engineering

Paul joined TourCMS in late 2008 and has been maintaining the website and helping new customers ever since.

Prior to joining TourCMS Paul worked for UK based Florida specialist tour operator Travel City Direct and then lead the web team at XL Leisure group, acting as a project manager for several brand website redesigns and technical lead on reservation system implementations.

Paul has a degree in computing - with a focus on web standards and software usability - and is a keen cook.

Dee Edwards

Board Director

Dee Edwards joined TourCMS as a board director in 2011. Her expertise lies in identifying market opportunities, business management and marketing.

Dee has a track record in launching and building businesses. These include Habbo (of which she was co-founder and Managing Director), the world’s largest social game for teenagers which earns its revenue from digital content alongside advertising and corporate sponsorship. She was also Strategy Director at Razorfish and Entrepreneur in Residence at the UK’s first Internet business incubator/VC.

She is Managing Director of Tell Tale Travel, a tour operator she co-founded in 2005, specialising in soft adventure/experiential holidays. Its headquarters are in London, with local operations in the countries it operates in.

Samantha Tyers

Concierge

Samantha Tyers (Sam) joined TourCMS as part of our new Concierge Team in 2011. She is there to support you, our clients in the set up stage of using TourCMS. What makes Sam unique is her broad and diverse experience making her great at lateral thinking and focussing on providing you with well rounded support and solutions.

She has a corporate background in sales, marketing and business development and has worked with businesses such as CocaCola, dotcoms and International Marketing Agencies. She has also worked in the public sector, with start ups and SME’s, and has spent the last 5 years living and working freelance in China, Thailand and Indonesia.

Sam will be working part time for TourCMS as well as running her own business reallysavvy.com which offers a range of tailored business development services to the travel, tourism and dive industry. Her passion is to empower people to achieve a more sustainable way of doing business.

Sam also has an MSc in Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies, speaks mandarin (Chinese), enjoys a spot of yoga, and loves being on or in the ocean. Already a qualified scuba instructor, her new passion is freediving.

Sophie Collard

Travel Writer

You may hear from Sophie when she's compiling the monthly TourCMS agent/affiliate newsletter. She is also available for hire to work on your own website - e.g. for hotel / tour description rewrites, monthly newsletters etc..... She is known for a love of train travel, which her travel blog is chiefly about.
