Tours & other travel products

TourCMS supports multiple types of travel product:

• Group departures (e.g. multiple customers on the same fixed trip such as activities, itinerary based group tours and city tours)
• Flexible, season based, dates (used for tailor made tours, attraction ticketing and dynamic packaging)
• Villa, cottage, condo and ski chalet rental
• Complex tailor made tours (including multi-center bookings)
• Hotel reservations (also ideal for complex per person pricing for tours)
• Campsites
• Coach tours & airport transfers

General functionality:

• Store customer and supplier cost prices for individual products
• Minimum and maximum people capacity can be set on specific dates
• Quantity and duration based pricing (with duration either by night for accommodation or by day for car hire)
• Associate suppliers with indivdiual tours or options
• Availability can be held back for release near tour start time (for basic revenue management)
• Manage tour information such as website content (descriptions), dates & prices using one central database
• Multiple currencies
• Special offers and late availability can be loaded and managed
• Overlapping (by date) bookings can be stopped - required for villa or ski chalet rental
• Price by person or by the booking (for example a villa rental may cost the same if you have 6 or 8 guests, but tours are generally priced by person)
• Local payments - where your customers pay the tour leader at time of travel - rather than up-front (can be accounted for separately in financial reports)

In addition to the standard tour product types, TourCMS supports complex options. These are used for:

• Flights
• Single supplements and other alterations to prices based on the number of people in the booking
• Child discounts
• Equipment hire
• Travel insurance
• Per item and per person extras
• Cancellation and modification fees
• Component prices to generate tailor made tour prices or quotations
• Much more besides!

Options can be forced to be included (depending upon set rules) (e.g. for single supplements), defaulted to included (for example travel insurance) or left to customers to choose the quantity required.

Although we have referred to tour operators, TourCMS can be used for any date related product - such as training courses, event tickets, sports competition entries etc.
