Potential uses

The TourCMS system is very flexible and can be put to a variety of uses:

For tour operators...
Use TourCMS to power a tour operator website, marketing and associated bookings. Allow suppliers and ground handlers to login and see your latest bookings. Can work alongside an existing booking management system or standalone.

For travel agencies...
Use TourCMS to power a section of your website. Enable tour operators to login and update their dates & prices and review their bookings or manage all content yourself.

For ground handlers...
Enable your tour operators to see and reserve live inventory. If you sub-contract product supply to other companies or individuals, let them have restricted login access to your installation of TourCMS so they can update their availability directly.

For destination marketing organisations...
Provide or resell individual TourCMS accounts to individual operators and agents. They can login, update tours, dates & prices and review associated bookings. Each individual operator will have their own website (with domain name). All tour operator travel products will also be available for you to distribute via a central website.

For other date-specific products...
TourCMS can market and manage any date oriented product such as training courses, events and equipment hire.

Advanced multiple website management / distribution control

One great use for TourCMS is to manage multiple websites. For example say you sell trekking in New Zealand. You may have a different website for selling treks to British people in Britain - and another website for selling the same treks to people in Australia.

You can choose to adjust the following on a website by website basis:
  • Markup (percentage or fixed amount) (or markdown) - giving you an opportunity to put different prices on different sites
  • Product filters - control what products appear on what websites
  • Sales tax (e.g. VAT / TVA) - if you are legally trading in different locations around the world you could add different sales tax for different marketplaces
  • Currency - one website can sell in Euros another in New Zealand Dollars (but your account will calculate margins within your base currency)
