In addition to entering pax numbers and choosing dates the other key funcction of Step 1 of the booking process can optionally be to identify a returning customer or a travel agent who is making a booking.
Customer / agent login boxes are the obvious choice for this, enabled via Channel Manager > Step 1 - Select your product, logins can be made either optional or mandatory.
If set to MANDATORY login – they MUST login prior to reviewing any availability information and progressing down the booking engine. If set to OPTIONAL – they may login – or may make a direct booking as per normal.
If you want both agent and customer login then create two booking engines (on your same account). Go to Website setup (in Configuration & setup) and add a second website. A second booking engine will now appear in the web design manager section of TourCMS.
You could set on the agent login for the automated email to go to the agent while on the customer login to go to the customer.
There are tokens to extract the customer username / password – so for example you could inform your customers what their login details are when they first book with you. Subsequent bookings will be associated with the same, original, customer record. Details of the tags and others are available in the Documentation manual (RTF & Email).
NOTE this isn’t a TRUE login system – it is not session based. I.E all the login system does is alter the URL of the first page of the booking process so that either agent or customer ID is set. This works fine and there is no real risk of data leakage..... but just bear that in mind.
The screenshot below shows a travel agent dropdown in place, used when you have a "closed" system with travel agents known to each other:
For much more advanced agent login functionality (including ability to review bookings, promote your products etc) please set them up as TourCMS Marketplace partners. Explanation of the differences and overview.
An external agent login can be created that means you don't have to send your agents to the TourCMS website to login
