About Travel UCD

We are based in Southampton in the United Kingdom (UK).

Travel UCD started out as a travel technology, software development and usability consultancy working with UK based travel "dot coms".

We have worked in either a consultancy role or managed IT & web projects for:

Hotel chains, including two European hotel chain consortiums
Scheduled and charter airlines
Web design agencies with travel sector clients
One of the "top two" UK travel tour operators with highstreet travel agency networks
Many smaller tour operators

Between 2002 and 2003 we published 3 papers on usability research with a particular emphasis on consumer online hotel reservation systems. These are available for download (FREE) from our travel website usability research section.

During early 2003 development on TourCMS commenced and went live end of 2003. Between 2003 and 2006 TourCMS operated as distributed, server installed, software. In early 2006 TourCMS was upgraded and is now a centralised website and bookings management platform.

TourCMS has been 100% specified, designed, developed and implemented by the original development team since 2003, working from the same location in Southampton, UK.

TourCMS, alongside our ongoing travel technology project management & consulting services, forms the core of Travel UCD's services today.

We do not provide web design services nor undertake online marketing on behalf of our clients. Instead we choose to work alongside your existing suppliers and ensure that you are getting the best value for your money. We know the right questions to ask!
