Villa, ski chalet or cottage rentalThese style of products tend to have flexible dates (i.e. use freesale tours) but don't wish other customers to book at the same time, for the same physical location The basics The "Price x 1" rule should also be selected (in the tour setup). This is where you are renting the property rather than charging a per person price. (for example, you will charge the same amount whether there are 5 or 8 people in the property). If you need to have a supplement for under or over occupancy, use an option and configure in the option price table to only impact bookings with certain numbers of customers. Letting the customer choose flexible dates To stop overlapping bookings, switch, on each individual tour (in the tour setup) the overlap rule to say "No". Depending upon whether you allow other bookings to start on the same date that another booking finished, choose either "same day OK" or "next day OK". Selling "in blocks of dates" (for example Saturday to Saturday) An alternative to using freesale tours would be to use departures with a fixed start and end date. This is particularly good if you sell by the week. The two downsides are that you will firstly have to preload much more price data (one departure for each week) rather than a longer duration freesale season. Secondly, if a customer "over stays" - i.e. they stay an extra day or two - or the booking isn't the standard length - the availability management for the overlapping bookings is not maintained - so you could either end up with gaps between bookings that you can't sell - or 2 bookings from different people in the same location at the same time. If you wish to "force" bookings to start every Saturday, but still want the flexibility of a freesale season including the overlapping booking management, then load up a new freesale season for each week - but only for the Saturday dates (each season being 1 day long). Set the maximum duration to 7 days (or perhaps 14). Note that only freesale price & availability rule [A] will work with this style - as this rule is the only one that doesn't mind if the end date of a booking is outside of a season. | ||
