FOR SALE: Hotel reservation website complete with hotel contracts

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Are you a travel startup looking for a quick way to acquire hotel contracts and hotel booking capabilities for your website?

Here is the company history:

  • US based
  • Started at a kitchen table in 1998
  • By 2002 sales were close to 1 million dollars
  • The original founding owner and partner sadly passed away in 2005. The company went into probate for a year and a half. The company is now out of probate hence available for acquisition. The existing owners (family of the founders) will help the new owners.

Product and business information:

  • Close to 2000 hotel contracts worldwide
  • Own booking engine for reservations
  • Also have an affiliate contract with Expedia / Hotels.com
  • Website is over 10 years old with many natural searches. Business also owns assorted hotel specific domain names. [I have seen one of them, they could be good]
  • Brands: All IHG and Choice properties. Affiliate contract with MGM. StubHub and Orlando tickets to parks.

The company, and website, at this time wish to remain unnamed (I know who they are and have had a conversation with the owner). [And no, this isn’t a client nor my own business].

Actually they are happy to be named to anyone who is interested - but we just don’t want this blog post to be coming up in the future for searches on their company name!

This is not a legal description of sale and I haven’t independently checked that the detail above is correct….. for further information you need to contact the business broker. I suggest you contact me and I will forward your details on.

is this paid-for blog content, alex?

“This blog is about travel ecommerce with a focus on topics of interest to tour operators & travel companies”…

Alex put the companies logo up. Then we all know who it is and search engines cannot read pictures.

    Hi Toby,
That falls into the “why didn’t I think of that” category!

The vendor may come along and post something here shortly - I will leave it to him to advise me whether he would like further disclosure!

    Thanks. Alex

    Hello,
Alex has offered to help me with the exposure. Alex will contact me with your information and I will contact you with my brokers details. The website is very personal to me as it was built from nothing back in 1998 by my father. Posting the LOGO is a great idea. But, I would rather not have anything posted for the respect to the future owners. Having ten years on the web carries great value. Thank you.
